Program Description: ESL (English as a Second Language) The program in District #86 was designed to service students in small group instruction, with assistance provided in classrooms, thus allowing for special services meeting each student’s needs. 

Program Goal: Eligible students of the program will become users of the English language in all academic areas.  With emphasis on reading, writing, listening, and speaking. 

ESL Student Population: This year the ESL program is in four District #86 Schools.  These schools include: one Jr. High, which is Central, one 3-5 building, which is Paul L. Bolin, and two primary buildings, Wilson and Armstrong. There are 9 students who receive ESL instruction, with language backgrounds including Spanish andArabic.
