District 86 uses Measures of Academic Progress for students in grades 2-8. Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) are computerized adaptive tests that measure your student's general knowledge in reading, language usage, and mathematics. Your student will take MAP beginning in second grade and again every year through grade 7. To learn more about these tests, use the Measures of Academic Progress links above.
District 86 also uses a type of assessment called curriculum-based measurement for some students. Curriculum-based measurement (CBM) is a tool for measuring student competency and progress in the basic skill areas of reading fluency, spelling, mathematics, and written language.
Students in District 86 take the Illinois Standards Achievement Test as required by Illinois law. ISAT results are reported in School Report Cards. To learn about ISAT/School Report Cards, click on the ISAT and School Report Card links above above.
District 86 uses an assessment called Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills to help identify kindergarten and first grade children who are having difficulty with phonemic awareness, an important reading skill.
