Response to Intervention

Response to Intervention (RtI) is a system for providing the appropriate education to all students, both general and special education.  In years past, the only option for providing assistance to students with different needs was special education, but through RtI, students receive assistance to students before the needs are so great that special education services are required.  If this assistance is not enough to meet the student’s needs, special education services may then be provided.
