Science and Social Studies

With having 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th grade students in our classroom, we try to cover concepts that are covered at each of the grade levels. Some science concepts we may be covering this year include the human body, animals, and the solar system. Some social studies concepts we may be covering include various cultures, holidays in the U.S. and around the world, and basic geography. Most instruction will involve experiments or short hands-on activities to reinforce learning.

       I also believe that character education is an important part of social studies instruction. We will have these lessons about once per week focusing on appropriate behavior, manners, interacting with others, and other skills related to being the best person you can be. Our lessons will involve role-playing, discussion, and other activities.
