New Students: August 3 to August 6
Below is infomation on how to register for the 2021-2022 School Year. Please read the descriptions to help choose the correct path to register your student. Forms for applying for Free and Reduced Lunch are at the bottom of this page.
Online Registration: New to District Student/Family
Choose this link if you are COMPLETELY new to the district, which means you do not have a District 86 Skyward Family Access account. For example, a family who just moved here, a family with their first child just coming into the district in Kindergarten or an ECE student who has already been approved for the program but has not had an evaluation. This link will take you through a few steps, create a Skyward Family Access account, and allow you to submit a registration application. Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed. Once approved you will be able to access your Skyward Family Access account and finish the registration process.
Online Registration: Returning Family Registering a New Student
Choose this link if you have had, or currently have, students in the district and need to register an incoming Kindergarten/ECE student along with your returning students. The link will take you to your Skyward Family Access account. You will register your returning students using the "Online Registration" tab. Step 8 will allow you to pay the registration fees. Step 9 will submit the registration to your student's school. (Please make sure you complete Step 9) You will register your new student using the "New Student Online Registration" tab. Those tabs are located on the left hand side of your Skyward Family Access screen.
Online Registration: Returning Students
Choose this link if you only have returning students to register. This includes prior ECE or speech only students who are now going into Kindergarten, or ECE students who have had an evaluation. This link will take you to the login screen for your Skyward Family Access. You will register your returning students using the "Online Registration" tab within your Family Access account. Step 8 will allow you to pay the registration fees. Step 9 will submit the registration to your student's school. (Please make sure you complete step 9)
ALL STUDENTS - REQUIREMENT FOR EVERY SCHOOL YEAR
All returning and new students will need to bring proof of residency. Please see the following list:
Proof of Residency Requirements: 1 document from Category I AND 2 from Category II
Category I (1 document required)
- Most recent property tax bill and proof of payment, e.g., canceled check or Form 1098 (homeowners)
- Mortgage papers (homeowners)
- Signed and dated lease and proof of last month’s payment, e.g. ,canceled check or receipts (renters)
- Letter from manager and proof of last month’s payment, e.g., canceled check or receipt (trailer park residents)
- Letter of residence from landlord in lieu of lease (7:60-AP2, El)
- Letter of residence to be used when the person seeking to enroll a student is living with a District resident (7:60-AP2, E2)
Category II (2 documents showing proper address are required)
- Driver’s license
- Vehicle registration
- Voter registration
- Most recent cable television and/or credit card bill
- Current public aid card
- Current homeowners/renters insurance policy and premium payment receipt
- Most recent gas, electric, and/or water bill
- Current library card
- Receipt for moving van rental
- Mail received at new residence
