Congratulations to Juju B. and Nash B. for being selected as top performers! Juju has been playing hard and practicing hard since day 1 of the season. In our 1st couple of games, Juju had led the team in scoring and takes care of the basketball while on offense. Nash has been a vocal player in practice and in games. He has been a great teammate and for these reasons Nash was also selected to be a captain for the boys basketball team!

Encourage everyone in your advisory class to bring a can or two and wear their silliest or most creative hats! It’s a great way to raise both food donations and spirits.

Congratulations to Liv L., Kaylee D., and Brynley H. for being selected as top peformers! Liv tried out for the first time this year and she has learned so much in just a couple of months. She is a very coachable player. She has listened and asked questions about how she can improve. She had 6 points against D50 and 4 points against Washington Middle last week. Kaylee is a constant vocal leader on the court and off. She encourages her teammates and helps girls that just starting playing basketball recently. She had a great game against Tremont this week scoring 10 points and pulling down numerous rebounds for her team! Brynley had a great performance this week at Tremont. She led her team on the offensive end by taking good care of the ball and she also played solid defense which caused many turnovers for Tremont. She scored 14 points in the 7th grade game and then helped the 8th grade team by pouring in three 3 point shots to end with a total of 12 points.

Congratulations to Sammy O. and Lexi K. for being chosen as Top Performers! Sammy plays hard every time she is out on the court. She worked on her game in the offseason and she has shown a lot of improvement on fundamentals this season. She scored 4 points in the win against Pekin Edison on Saturday. Lexi played well in both the 7th and 8th grade games against Pekin Edison on Saturday. She scored 4 points in the 7th grade game and supplied both teams with tough defense. She also came down with several rebounds to help both teams win their games.
