Congratulations to Caleb B., Isabella F., and Carol S. for being selected as Top Performers for IESA Week 24! Caleb scored 22 points in three games last week, knocking down 6 triples! Isabella and Carol also helped pitch in and contribute to a strong showing last week at the Peoria cheer competition!




Congratulations to Vinny H. on being named Top Performer or IESA week 23. Vinny is always showing up, playing hard, and being a leader on the team. He is always willing to take advice when given.

Congratulations to Charlotte G. and James B. for being selected as Top Performers for IESA Week 22! Charlotte's hard work and commitment to the cheer program are being recognized, while James won 4 of his 5 chess matches this past weekend at the Brimfield tournament!

At 9:31 am, a fire alarm pullstation was accidentally activated triggering the buildings Fire Alarms. At 9:33 am, all Central Junior High School students in attendance were outside and accounted for. East Peoria Fire Department responded to the alarm and confirmed there was no fire and that the building was safe to re-enter. At 9:38 am, all students returned inside. Classes resumed at 9:43 am. A Big THANK YOU to EPFD and Central Faculty/Staff for responding so well.

The route for Bus 21 has been cancelled today, December 4, 2023. Bus 21 will not be running this morning or afternoon.

Congratulations to Everett Z., Carter H., Justis D., Mady M., and Tayla W., for being chosen as top performers of the week for IESA Week 21! Everett is being recognized for being positive and encouraging at basketball games and practices. Carter is being recognized for always helping at student council. Justis, Mady, and Tayla were chosen for their hard work and improvement during this year's girls basketball season!




CJHS i-Ready testing dates: December 4 - 6 (reading) and December 11-13 (math). Make sure your student has a working pair of headphones and encourage them to try their best!

Congratulations to Weston M., Trinity M., Addi D., Lia B., and Olivia P. for being selected as Top Performers for IESA Week 20. Weston was selected for scoring 28 total points and being a leader on and off the court. Trinity was selected for being encouraging, ready to practice everyday, always smiling, and going out of her way to make others feel seen. Addi, Lia, and Trinity were selected for leading their team to a first round Regional victory against higher seeded Macomb!

Congratulations to our girls basketball team who advanced today in regional play! They will face Galesburg on Monday at Dunlap Valley Middle School.


Friday, November 17th is the 2nd quarter midterm for CJHS. Look for a midterm report coming home next week.

Congratulations to Ben A., Carter H., Genevieve B., Annabelle B., and Sylee V., for being chosen as Top Performers for IESA Week 19. Ben dropped 31 points in the Washington Tournament last week! Carter, Genevieve, Annabelle, and Sylee teamed up to win a "Judge's Choice" award at the IESA State Speech Competition this past Saturday!
