Out of an abundance of caution related to the potential of weather concerns this afternoon, Central Junior High School will be dismissing students at 12:30 pm. K-2 schools will be dismissed at 1:30, and 3-5 schools will be dismissed at 1:40 pm. Please contact your child’s school if this changes their transportation for this afternoon. Latchkey has informed us that they will also be closing at 4:30 pm due to weather concerns. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your understanding as we look at the safety of our students and staff.
Permission Slips and Waivers for our trip to Elevate must be turned in by the end of the school day on Wednesday 3/15. Permission slips and Waivers were sent home on Monday. PDF's of both documents were posted on the school's Facebook page and Website.

This is a reminder that Permission Slips and Waivers for our 3rd quarter Incentive Trip to Elevate Trampoline Park must be turned into the office by the end of the school day on Wednesday March 16th. If your student has met the behavior benchmark to be able to attend but does not have the Permission Slip and Waiver turned in, they will stay back at school and participate in an alternative activity. The Permission Slip and Waivers can be found on the School Website and the School Facebook Page. Please call the Central Junior High Office if you have questions.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
On February 7th, Central Junior High Administrators visited all Advisory classrooms to explain behavior benchmarks for the Third Quarter Incentive Day. These benchmarks were determined based on teacher and student feedback. The following benchmarks must have been met in order to participate in the 3rd Quarter Incentive Day at Elevate Trampoline Park:
No In School or Out of School Suspensions
No more than 2 after school detentions Friday Schools count as 2 after school detentions
No more than 6 lunch detentions .
Students who are eligible to participate in the incentive will leave school to go to Elevate for two hours during the day. They may bring money to purchase concessions while they are there. Students who are eligible to participate must have a signed permission slip and Elevate Waiver turned into the office by the end of the school day on Wednesday March 15th. Copies of these documents went home with you child on Monday. These documents are avaiable on the Central Junior High School website under the documents page.
Spring break is March 20th-March 26th.

Congratulations to Cooper and Quintin for advancing to the state wrestling meet this coming Friday and Saturday. They wrestling in the sectional tournament this last weekend. Cooper placed third and Quintin placed fourth. Good luck this next weekend boys.
Tomorrow's spirit day is Get Out in Nature Day! You can wear flannel, beach wear, or whatever other clothing that would be good for the great outdoors.

Good luck to our 8th grade volleyball team as they begin their post season at Normal Kingsley today!
Illinois Science Testing begins next week for 8th grade students. Each student will participate in 3 test sessions covering Life, Physical and Earth/Space Science. 8th grade students will follow a modified schedule from March 06 - March 13. Please make sure your child gets a good night of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast!
Please remember, we have our open house coming up next Tuesday, March 07, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.
