As we begin the school year, we wanted to bring your attention to a few updates in our attendance policy to help us address chronic absenteeism. As always, our goal is to have students in school as much as possible. If your child will be absent from school, please call the school office that morning to inform them. Students will be marked 'excused' from a parent phone call for up to five days each semester. Families will need to provide evidence, such as a note from a medical professional, funeral director, or legal agency for any additional absence to be marked as excused. Without evidence, the absence will be marked as 'unexcused,' even with a parent phone call. We do understand that there may be circumstances that arise that may need further discussion with your child's principal. Thank you for your help as we continue to stress the importance of daily school attendance for our students.
