Illinois Science Testing begins next week for 8th grade students. Each student will participate in 3 test sessions covering Life, Physical and Earth/Space Science. 8th grade students will follow a modified schedule from March 06 - March 13. Please make sure your child gets a good night of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast!

Please remember, we have our open house coming up next Tuesday, March 07, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.

Here is a sneak peak at the dress rehearsal for the CJHS play! Performances will take place on March 10 and March 11.


Any student interested in participating in Track this year needs to fill out the Google Form on their Class of Google Classroom and pick up the packet outside Mrs. Tomlinson's or Mr. Jewell's room.

Congratulations to the following Chess Club members for their performance at the Tazewell County Chess Tourney: For 6th grade, Oliver finished in 1st place with a perfect 5-0 record! Evan finished in 3rd place! For 7th grade, James finished in 7th place and Mason finished in 9th place! Well done, gents!

Coach Bailey and Coach Hamilton are very proud of how well each of the chess club members represented CJHS with their chess skills and awesome behavior at the Tazewell County Chess Tournament!

The home wrestling meet scheduled for February 22 has moved to February 21 at CJHS.

Congratulations to the CJHS Cheer Team for their top 10 performance at the State Competition!

The Blue and Gold club is hosting a 3 on 3 basketball tournament here at the junior high on February 25. The cost is $100 per team and this includes a t-shirt. There will be separate divisons for boys and girls - grades 3-8 but divisions may be combined as needed. Each game will be 15 minutes and you are guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. Games start at noon with the doors opening at 11:15. The registration form is now posted on your class of google classroom.

Attention 8th graders: Please make sure to turn in your Jostens order form if you are wanting Class of 2027 spirit wear. Money and order forms are due on Friday. If you need another order form, please see Mrs. Miller.

Last night our 8th Grade Boys Basketball team took care of business and brought home the Regional Championship!!!! Our boys battled with Dunlap Valley and finished the game winning 56-50. Our next game will be Monday, February 6th at 6:30 PM against Bloomington Junior High for the Sectional Championship and a trip to state. The game will be held at Dunlap Middle School and we would like to see all of you there!!!!

Reminder

It's the most wonderful time of the year! This week will be a CJHS Christmas Spirit Week! Each day will have a Christmas related theme. Please remember that you MUST follow school dress code. Monday is class color day -6th graders should wear white, 7th graders should wear red, and 8th graders should wear green. Tomorrow is Christmas Pajama day, but remember, no onesies.

The Red Stocking Fund collection begins Monday. During advisory, we will be collecting spare change, dollar bills, and more. All money goes to help CJHS students and families in the winter months. It helps provide holiday meals, winter hats and gloves, warm socks and more to those in need! Any amount helps. Please call the CJHS Office with questions. Thank you and have a great weekend!
