Parents/Guardians and Spectators of Girls Basketball games, The Girls Basketball Team plays @ Beverly Manor on Wednesday November 1st 4:30pm. Just a heads up that "Concessions will be available inside, by purchase of "cat coins" at the front table - our concession stand does not accept cash at the concession line." Thank you
CJHS will be hosting an Honor Roll Breakfast 7:00-7:30am on November 17th. Doors will open at 6:45. Guests are to enter the doors by the Special Services Building. The Honor Roll Breakfast will be held in the Old Gym. Parents/Guardians and families are encouraged to attend this event to celebrate the hard work of their 6th through 8th grade Honor Roll Students. Students will be invited to this event in the coming weeks.
The following criteria must be met in order to be considered on the Honor Roll at CJHS:
"C.J.H.S. HONOR ROLL GUIDELINES C.J.H.S. students must earn all "A's" and "B's" in all subjects to be named to the honor roll. The honor roll is posted after each grading period. The C.J.H.S. Honor Roll, is met by maintaining a “B-“ or better in all subject areas,"- CJHS Student Handbook.

Eli M. went 4-6 from the plate in Week 7
Liam M. set a personal record in Week 9
Colton C. had a six strikeout performance on the mound in Week 10.
Callyn B. broke the 13 minute mark for the first time in Week 11
Boys Basketball Practice for Friday 10/20/23 has been cancelled.
The next Boys Basketball Practice will be Saturday 10/21/23 6-8am.
Friday, October 20th the grading period ends for CJHS. Look for a report coming home next week.

8th Grade Night for Girls Basketball
Central Junior High School will be recognizing our 8th Grade Girls Basketball Players on Monday, October 23rd. 8th Graders and their guests will be recognized after the 7th grade game has ended. We look forward to seeing you at the game to recognize our 8th Graders!
Boys Basketball Tryouts Reminder:
Any 6th-8th Grade Boy who is interested in trying out for the Boys Basketball Team must attend tryouts next week. Tryouts are Monday 10/16/23 2:45pm-5:00pm and Tuesday 10/17/23 6:00am-beginning of school day. Those trying out MUST have an up to date physical on file with the office in order to try out. If you have questions as to whether your child has an up to date physical, please call Central Junior High School and ask to speak to Mrs. McGraugh. Any additional questions are to be directed to Mr. Wall. Thank you and have a great weekend!
Congratulations to Lia B. and Sam B. for being selected as our "Top Performers of the Week" for IESA Week 14 (October 1-7). Lia scored 27 points over three games last week! Sam was a positive leader at part of the chorus, helping make sure last week's performance was a success!
Addi D. is being recognized as a top performer for IESA Week 6 (August 6-12). Addi threw a no-hitter, striking out 20 in an outing early in the season.
Congratulations to our 8th grade girls who defeated South Pekin last night!
Boys basketball open gym for Thursday, October 12, has been cancelled. Tryouts will begin Monday, October 16, after school.
CJHS Families,
At 4:23 this afternoon, the fire alarms were activated at CJHS due to burnt popcorn. Everyone in the building was evacuated. East Peoria Fire Department responded promptly and determined that the building was safe. Everyone was allowed back into the building at 4:27 and the Girls Basketball Game against Germantown Hills started at 4:40. Thank you to everyone for cooperating and to the EPFD for their quick response.
Come support or girls tonight as they take the court against the Warriors of Germantown Hills. 7th grade tips off at 4:30!

Tomorrow (10/6) is our 1st Quarter Behavior Incentive. Part of the incentive will be the use of Inflatables/Jump Houses. In order to participate in the Inflatable Station, students MUST HAVE SOCKS. Students that do not have socks will not be able to participate in the Inflatable Station.
